Default engine swap

i know this is a newbie question but would you guys recommend an ls vtec swap in an 99 civic? I'm tryin to do a legal and reliable swap. Also another noob question but after the engine, ITR tranny, installation, LS ARP rod bolts
GSR ARP head studs
New OEM LS (90-01) B18a/b head gasket
New OEM/ACL LS bearings
Shotpeen LS rods
New hastings/OEM LS piston rings
New OEM valve seals
Hone cylinders
New GSR/ITR 22T water pump (P72)
New GSR/ITR timing belt (P72)
New GSR/ITR/96+ Bseries oil pump (P72)
Magnetic oil drain plug (important for break in)
New NGK V-power BKR6E spark plugs (stock pistons) OR NGK V-power BKR7E spark plugs for 10.8:1+ compression.
(i got that from honda-swap.com)

how much money am i lookin at? once again i know that is a noob question but i need to know how much money k-wise (3k-4k-5ketc.) i have about 2k saved up so i think im off to a good start.

thanks'
erik

For the 99 thousandth time, a LS/V is just as reliable as any whole motor if it's assembled right.

EDIT:
@ OP: Search a place like http://www.slhondaparts.com for OEM parts and wherever you plan on buying your aftermarket parts.

In conjunction with the "add" button on a calculator you can come up with some ****.

Yes.

B16's are great motors...fun as ****, not good daily drivers though unless boosted in my opinion.

Or they're fine daily drivers, but not much of an upgrade than a D-series motor if you're daily driving it (oppose to "street racing").

x2 i got a 97 hatch and i drove a 97 hatch with a b16 (with H/I/E n a clutch) the other day first the first time and like syndacate said, there the same as a d16 until you hit like 5k. so unless your going to beat the **** out of your car 24/7 or but some FI in it its not much of an upgrade. only very very little more torque.
