Truck, manual release broke??
I have a 2003 Honda Accord 2 door 6-speed with 50k miles on it and came across a problem today. The manual release inside (level up for truck, down for fuel door) was hard to move this morning so I tried to push it down some and then pull up on it. When I pulled up on it just like snapped and came all the way up, trunk opened but now it won't latch closed. I think the cable broke that goes to it. At the same time, I also tried to push down on it some to see if it was sticking when it almost happened again. Now my trunk is open, won't latch closed, my fuel door won't work either??.. ** I think that I broke the cable for the trunk, opps. and for the fuel door I think the cable came off the handle inside the car ** This happen to anyone and if so, how hard is it to replace the cable or even see if it is broke or not. Tonight I am going to pull the carpet away in the trunk so I can at least get the cable off the locking/unlocking control unit so I can close it/latch it closed. But with only a 1/3 tank of gas, I need to fix soon!!
Stick your key in the keyhole next to the lever and turn. That should unlock that lever and allow you to open the gas filler door.
