oil pressure sendor...how to remove...
Anyone know how to get at the oil pressure sensor? I'm trying to install an oil pressure gague, and have tried from below with the oil filter off, but can't get to it. The only way I can see to get to it is by taking the intake manifold off... Any sugestions?
Thanks
BTW: It's a 90 HF

Your doing something wrong if you cannot get to it. I have done several of these. Take the oil filter off. Then you a deep socket (I can't remember the size but it's about 1") and you can take it off with a rachet.
Remember that the threads in the block are BSP-27 NOT 1/8NPT. You need an adapter fitting or you will ruin the threads on the block.

Here's the curious part about the sender... At the parts store, I had them use one to match it to the adapters I was planning on using... They came back with the 1/8npt stuff... It seemed to fit just fine on what they had.
the block it tapped for 1/8 BSPT
and most gauges have 1/8 NPT
thats why it may leak...solution...autometer...#2269 1/8" NPT to 1/8" BSPT
this is if u want to do it right
if u want to cross thread it, just slap some sealer on there
and put in a 1/8 NPT fitting...
good luck!
