Motor Mounts?
Hey Guys, my Type-One aftermarket header cracked the other day before the O2 sensor, and I am thinking that it is because the engine is moving too much due to warn out motor mounts. My car has 204K on it. I was wondering if you guys agree, and if so, where is the best place to find some new motor mounts for my 2000 Type-R? If not, should I add some flex pipe? Other ideas?
Thanks!
Thanks!

damn, 204K...i am so jealous that you get to drive your ITR so often
and yes, definately look into a set of new mounts...
i recommend a set of new OEM (~$300) or Mugens (~$400)

since jimfab isnt making the mounts anymore and you liked that style, avid racing is making something like them.

avid racing torque mounts
heres the link to the post for them in the hondatech market place.

Im kind of in the same boat as you. I've got about 165k on my 01 and my drivers side mount is cracked. If it was me I would just buy stock mounts but I hate aftermarket mounts. I like the smooth feeling of stock mount.
whats the deal with these torque absorbing shock like mounts? anyone ever actually used them or know anyone that has them in their car? i have 101k/km on my car so ill be going with new mounts sometime soon.

I wouldn't get aftermarket torque mounts with oem engine mounts, doing so will bring alot of engine vibration into the cabin.
OEM engine mounts - soft/give
Aftermarket torque mounts - stiff/solid
So the engine vibrates due to the oem mounts but the torque mounts soak it all up to your frame rails and bring it into the cabin.
Aftermarket engine mounts w/ oem or aftermarket torque mounts.
Runs smooth, no engine jerking, less wheel hop.

only reason i can see him adding a flex pipe is for that added safty the it wont break again

I thought about getting a set of Avids, I've heard some say that some sets have fitment issues. Like the cross bolt holes aren't centered just right or something to that effect. Anyone?
