While idling the engine will surge a bit every couple of seconds. Not much but it is noticeable, any ideas what to check?

 

surging? like fluxuating, revving up and dropping down?

yeah

 

check for vaccume leaks, and check the IACV it sits on the back of the ITM it controls your idle....

Checked for leaks but I'll double check and I'll be sure to check IACV, thanks!

 

but mi car has the same problem and it is only doing it when its cold

 

The FCCV Controls your idle when the car is cold, it stits under the throttle body, you should clean out the IVAC and The FCCV and make sure all the wires/hoses are hooked up properly....

 

how about you check for a code before doing anything!

 

mine does the same thing but my tb does not have a fccv and it has a new iacv on it. wats next?

 

did you check for codes?

 

mines doesnt have any codes and only does it while its hot

 

make sure the iacv is seated properly and check for vacuum leaks. other then that i cant help ya.

 

Make sure your coolant is full as well.
