slow air leak, can't find a hole??
I have new michelin tires mounted to new oem honda wheels. Only one of the wheels loses 10psi/week. I took the wheel/tire back and had it re mounted and now 2 weeks later the tire is flat again. Any ideas?
I'm in the same boat as you. Luckily it's just the "commuting" tires on my track car so I just refill whenever I drive it, but the bucket method didn't work. Hell, it doesn't always lose pressure, either. No shop has been able to find a hole
Take it to a tire shop or mechanic (even Wal-Mart). They'll use soapy water to find the leak, and they can fix it (if it's fixable) and then re-mount the tire.

It's called the valve stem. Take it to a tire shop and they'll replace it. Very inexpensive to get fixed.

sometimes it's just the tire... i have to replace tires that have come several times due to leaks and could not find a puncture.. after we replaced the tire 9 out 10 times they didn't have this problem.. another thing with the michelin's and bfg the have a rib that sticks out off the bead and sometimes that cause it to leak.. its very slow and we have to grind them off.. very well known fact when it comes to the bfg KD nt...

FWIW, last year I drove off the track, and one of my tires was flat the next day. I took it to the local Wal-Mart, and they found the leak. It was along the inside edge, near the bead, not where someone would normally look for punctures. I was impressed that they found it...

air it up to 50psi or so and dunk it in some water and watch for any leaks around the valve stem or the bead if it is a bead then dismount it and get some chalk and put it around the tire on both beads and then air it up if thats the problem then that should work.....check it could be a valve stem or the core of the valve stem just tight'n it so yeah.....instead of chalk use some soap with water so its gooey.
the only time you use chalk is if the wheel is so badly rusted or corroded that you can't take off the grime with a grinding wheel... Airing up a tire to 50 lbs of air doesn't always work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
