What causes a tire to develop a bubble in it?
One of my tires has a bubble in the sidewall, about 2 inches by 3 inches. I don't use these tires in the winter, only the good weather...so I can't see how it would be climate. What gives?

Probobly a manufacturers defect, he also may have ran too much air pressure.
We replaced tires that did that at our tire shop. He should be able to do the same at whatever store he bought em from

i have had the same problem what causes that is when you ride on the tire with low air pressure the LIP of your WHEEL rubs away on the inner rubber little by little and when you go put air in it the RUBBING busted one of the belts that run on the inside of tire...its pretty much no good if you havent put air in it or anything...then its a manufacturer defect

Re: (akumaracer)
you are all wrong....
9.9 times out of 10 it is called an "impact break" it is caused but an impact to the tire that folds the sidewall of the tire and produces a micro sized crack in the inner liner and this has the same effect when you have a baloon with a weak spot and it bulges out.. this can be cause by many diff. things as small as a crack in the road to a sewer cover to a pothole.. find out if where you bought the tires has a "road hazard" warrenty theymight be able to replace it for no charge or on a pro-rated basis..
i hope this helped

This is correct it is when you run over a pothole hard enough it will break the beads in the tire and put a bubble on it. sorta like denting your rim

actually caused by impact.. called thread seperastion.. example.. 1 plie 2 plies on side of tire. seperated or break and cause air inside the the tire fo fill in the pocket of bubble...**** happens.. so dont put too much air in ur tire..
