wierd noise from recently turbod motor
i recently turbod my car(d16y8) and just got it tuned a few days ago so of course i was going to beat on it alittle. the temp is around 20 degrees here, ne way i picked up one of my friends, showed him wht the car could do then let it sit for about an hour- hour and a half when i was taking him home i noticed this wierd squealing noise sounded like it was coming from the drivers side front. almost like a turbo that had no oil(not wht it was). i drop him off drive home slow. it only did it when it was around 2500rpm and stoped around 3000, tryed to recreate the problem in my garage and couldnt. spark plugs looked fine and compression was 180 across the board. took the car out again putted around alittle and couldnt hear anything. the first thing that came to my mind was the beginning of a spun bearing but wouldnt it do it all the time or only when the engine is at a certain temperature.
mayb, i did hear some funny noises when i turned the wheel ealier that day but it wasnt the same pitch as this.

I had a similar poblem once. Turned out to be a hose clamp dropped into the lower timing belt cover and was chewing up the belt. I thought it was the turbo.
I think you just have loose belts. Turning the wheel would put a load on the PS pump, which would make a loose belt slip, which sounds like a squealing pig. The only time the turbo will 'scream' is when its spinning fast (producing some boost) and is out of balance. Its basicly vibrating itself to death.
yea today im going to check all the belts and just to be safe drop the pan and see if there are any metal shavings, the only thing that i found when i was in my garage is one of the screws holding the wastegate backed its self all the way out and was just about to fall out. mayb thats what was making a whistleing noise?
