how does the seats being stolen make the car a salvage title? doesn't it have to be messed up to the point that it's over 50% of the value of the car? shed a little light on this please.

No it dosen't work that way. There is no set point. Each individual insurance company, has there own guidelines as to what deems a car salvaged. Dealer price on the seats are $10k I believe. Farmers Insurance decided they would rather total out the car than pay for new seats. Like I said it just depends on the insurance company.
