Default Type-R Spotting; A Little Unusual...

I was watching the news this morning in Arizona (Fox 10 news) and they start talking about Paul Newman. They go to a video of him talking about some crap, and in the background....a PY ITR. I tried to tape it but my Tivo didn't respond quick enough.

Actually, Leno's "Festiva" is not a Festiva at all. It's really a mid-engine 220hp mid-engine V6 SHOGUN! Very rare, Very light, and VERY FAST!

Saw a shogun at an autocross last year. I am not sure if it was the driver, but the car didn't post good times at all. You would figure small wheelbase, tons of power, etc. should post superfast times... Maybe he was being gentile because the car is (or will be) a collectors item.

This might sound a little bit gay, and odd.. BUT here goes...

Anyone ever seen that Disney movie called "Rats"... it was about two jr. high girls that didn't have a date for a big dance so they turned these Rats into boys. Anyway, the theme song went like this: "Uh oh, we're in trouble."

Well.. in one of the scenes some boy picks up one of the girls and when he's at the door you can see his car in the background. An out-of-focus CW Integra Type R. You can even make out the stickers.

I bought that movie for $.41. Seriously. I managed to score a couple Red Shoe Diaries and some movies with the least successful Baldwin Brother during the same haul. I think it was about 30 movies that day. I really don't think I spent more than $5.50 on all of them..

"Ratz" is still in it's plastic from being previously viewed. I'll sell it to anyone who wants it. It's a fine piece to add to anybody's collection of ITR memorobilia.

$2 off Sale with movies priced at $2.99 + 20% employee discount =

The engine was in the back (middle actually, in the back seat), I think the radiator stayed up front, along with a new fuel cell. I saw an article about the car just a couple years ago -- the original car was a crazy one-off, but then they'd hoped to go into production (a few hundred), but in the end only actually made like six.

Google just found me this page: http://www.fordfestiva.com/Performance/shogun.html
