Default Wheel size

I have 18's and I want to get 17's. Which tire size would be better with fender gap and all. I have a 2" drop. Either 215/40/17 or 215/45/17 and I've realized that the 40 profile are alot cheaper too. Help me out. Give me your opinion.

I've found that the 40 series sidewall's are just so uncomfortable, that they're not worth it. My sister has 17x7's with 215/45/17's Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's. They're very comfortable, and they work well with the suspension she has on her car. She drives an '02 LX Coupe. So, all in all, I'd go 45 series sidewalls.
