Default Intakes

what's the difference between a ebay intake and a good aftermarket intake (aem, injen, ect.)......isn't it the filter that matters?

In my opinion, theres not much. Just get anything thats 3" pipping and a K&N filter and you're straight

well if you compare the quality you get from a aem intake to a ebay intake aem is of course the winner. As always and everybody else here on HT well tell you if you dont live in CA or states which have strict carb laws, get a ebay intake and k/n filter and you'll be set. i am from socal so im running my stock air box with a k/n drop in filter with the resonater removed. Works great for me. Also i have been fined for non carb intake...how much???$372...no joke...

Yeah, that blows **** hardcore for you CA guys.

He lives in Fl though, no CARB bullshit down there.

@ OP:
Eh, same crap. Ebay or not, it's one of the parts that in my opinion doesn't matter where it comes from. Obviously the filter is a different story but whatever.

I've seen plenty of people put plenty of ebay intakes (pipe and filter) on their cars and I've seen it run plenty long with no problems what-so-ever.

It's not like an ebay filter's not gonna work or something.

any 3" pipping is cool but its good 2 have injen intake because Each bend and the diameter at each point of the intake are carefully planned and dyno tested to ensure the maximum performance.

Not everyone has to take smog like cali does. He lives in Florida so he doesnt have to worry about it. **** I live in Washington and I dont even have to go to emissions.

Thats the stupidist thing I have ever heard. So your saying an AEM 3" intake with a K&N filter is going to be better than a piece of 3" piping the same length and shape as the AEM with a K&N filter, just because it has a carb legal sticker?

yeah it really doesnt matter, what matters for the power wise(which isnt much) is the material the piping is made out of, and the filter, as well as the width or the piping and how restrictive the filter is. for down here in FL if u get a cai then make sure to get that bypass thingy.
