Default who can do a custom cam... sohc vtec

As topic states, need a custom cam... not a regrind. No one makes one and everyone says it is not possible. Hell most companies dont even have the tooling to regrind the vtec cams at all when I contact them.

The regrinds are not aggressive enough, nor do they come close to the profile I want.

Is there no company on the planet that will make a custom cam for the not so popular application of sohc vtec's?

I called them before and they blew me off on a tech. who would not listen to what I wanted... instead tried to sell me on some regrind nancy girl cam profile.

I guess I should try agian... they just seem very determined to sell me a very mild regrind that I dont want.

and everyone else I talk to just flat out says they cannot do it or dont have tooling.

If you don't want a regrind, you might be forced to: get a machine shop to make up a 'blank' for you, then get a regrind company to grind it down to what you want. Since regrinds involve adding material, then grinding off most of it, I'd assume they could also do it to a blank.

Otherwise try calling a company that offers billet cam for that motor, assuming there is one offered. See what you can do about buying one of their blanks. If nothing else, feed them some BS about having a big race team, an upcoming spot in some mag, and offer to put huge decals to rep that company for free. Basicly treat them like a hot girl at the bar, tell them what they want to hear...

We can make custom camshafts for you: http://www.bisimoto.com/wst_page17.html

We make parts for the fastest and most relaible SOHCs on the planet. Write or give us a call. It takes 7 business days for a custom grind.

You are limited if you only regrind camshafts on a factory core. Using billets or hardwelding allows aggressive profiles, without sacrificing valve lash ability, timing duration and longevity due to small base circles.

correct... f22b1 head needs all the help it can get to flow... so I figure a wild turbo cam will help.

unless youre going for BIG power, the stock came would have sufficed.

you want more flow then have the head ported by a well known honda head porter.

i never said it wouldnt help LOL..

how much is a CUSTOM billet camshaft? your money could be better spent elsewhere.. like having the head ported.
