Default 93civic....WONT START!

Ive searched around and havent found any threads that exactly match whats going on w/my ex. Car started fine yesterday but it did get really cold last night (14 degrees) and I tried 2 leave last night, but it would start. I tried again today (40 degrees) and it still wouldnt start. Do I need some of that "heet" stuff still if the gas lines have frozen?

Seems like when I try to start it, its almost turning over and rpms are going up a lil bit (200 maybe). Any help would be much appreciated!!! I have a chilton but its CRAP! no troubleshooting!! ...otherwise anyone in the stl area wanna try n give me a jump!!

EDIT: O yea, the alternator is relatively new...bout a year and a half and the battery the same.

I would but dont you need a special tool 4 that. I just tried getting a jump so its not the battery for sure. I do think that THAT is the problem...no spark that is, but how do i check that?

There is an easy way to check for spark. Remove a spark plug reattach the wire and hold the tip of the plug on the engine have a friend crank the car and see if a spark jumps. If there is no spark. You have either a bad coil or the ignighter is bad. You can also get a spark tester from a parts store it plugs in in place of the spark plug.

check to see how much gas you got, most likely it froze throughout the night, especially if your low. used to happen all the time when i was in utah, and a poor college student, didnt have the money for gas, ha, now i'm just poor

My tank is just under half so i dont think its that...plus it got above freezing today. I took my battery up 2 autozone and they said its still good so its not that either. Im pretty sure its either the starter or maybe plugs/wires. Gotta check for spark tomorrow and see...thanks for all the help people!!
