Default Carbon Hood

I know of VIS and Seibon Carbon fiber hoods, but what other brands are possible to use without using hood pins. i just want an OEM CF hood.

Im looking for good quality/fitment and a good price..

I wouldnt waste my money on anything other than seibon or VIS. There are WAYY too many fitment problems with CF hoods as it is. Stick to the two good-quality brands in my opinion. As far as the hood pins go, it is recommended on EVERY CF hood. It is a safety feature because the hoods tend to fly up and therefore damage your windshield, roof of your car, and anything else that gets damaged when you are driving blind down the highway.

You don't need to use hoodpins - it's more of an aesthetics thing - the ones that actually have functionality usually aren't on civics that are driven every day. Though I can testify personally that a CF hood CAN and WILL fly up at <20mph so on that note maybe you should.

My friend's got one on his IS300, hood hasn't flown up yet .

Well the one I was driving didn't have any hood latch at all...so it's kinda comparing apples to oranges.

On a different note...

Don't let VTEC hit too hard .

I wouldnt bother with anything that doesnt add hp. The fastest cars you will see anywhere dont have all of this junk that you see at car shows and retarded movies like the fast and the furious. If your gonna spend a couple hundred bucks on a stupid hood, i would rather spend that money on things that actually give power.

If you wont use hood pins, then you better remove the cotter pins on the ball joint castle nuts too
You wouldnt want to by a hypocrite!

Use them. Suck it up or drive unsafe, everywhere you go.
Fact is, they do fly up, and there are many many examples of it happening. I guarantee you that the manufacturers recommend pins too

actually buddy, the fastest cars you will see anywhere would be completely made out of carbon fiber, fiberglass, kevlar. so removing a steel hood and adding a lighter carbon hood may not add ponies but it will increase the power to weight ratio.

anyways to answer ur question tehre are other reputable brands out there other then VIS and Seibon. For my DA I had the carbon creations OE hood and it was sexy with a nice tight weave. I recommend carbon-creations also for sure.
