Code 8, Top Dead Center\Distributor Replacement Question
Car is a 1991 Si with an obd-0 dohc ZC, it began throwing a code 8 about a week ago. It ran fine for a while, then started stuttering and then died just as I pulled into my job. Wouldn't start again, so I did my research and got an 88 Integra disty from a junkyard. I had to de-pin the integra disty square connector and put my old distributor connector on there, they were slightly different. When I put the "new" disty on the car won't even try to start, there appears to be no spark. Does anyone have any suggestions on anything I could try before ordering a brand new distributor for $200? Anyone have a wiring diagram for the distributor, maybe when I switched the connectors one wire is off or something? I find it hard to believe that the one I got is bad too, there seems to be zero play in the base shaft bearing, and even if there was a little play it seems to me it would still have some spark. And I did search quite a bit, but didn't find what I was looking for.
isnt the TDC sensor the one on the exhaust cam...if its like a d16a1 it should be in the same location nothing to do with the dizzy...but im not sure if im thinking of the right sensor?
