i had my 6000k's for my 03 for a couple months before i did a xenon retrofit. IMO, anything over 6000k is overkill. you cant see jack on the road. anyways, you can get them from HIDplanet or Umnitza, where i ordered mine. 250 shipped.

check the for sale section here. i got a set of 6000k for 160 shipped. I really like them, but the glare is just to miuch for me personally. Theres a cutoff, but its just not tight enough. Im looking for casper shields and playing with ideas to see if I can cut the glare down. BTW 6000k is to bright, its like staring into the sun...

just make sure to get a casper shield and D2R bulb. there are plenty of info on these. know what you are buying...research...

if you want color 8000k is good. but if you want visibilty get 4300K-6000K..

what do you mean by glare? what happens if the light is too bright on the road? isn't that good?

Glare is light where it shouldn't be. True HID projectors have a cut off so you don't blind on coming traffic. When you put a HID blub in a halogen housing you usually get a large amount of glare.

well it depends. the TYC projectors are ****. you get uneven light and crazy glare.

Those aren't TYC and as long as you don't have a HID projector than you're going to get glare. How much? that I can't tell you but you will get some.

this is what I'm wanting to do. I got some of this info from 7thgen back in the day and I'm not sure if its up to date anymore.

-TYC Headlight (replace projector lens with Valeo lens)
-6000k HID pack w/ H7 bulbs.

I've seen pictures of people using Halogen projectors and it looks horrible. Like you're projecting an aurora.

^^Any aftermarket headlights have horrible light output. However, they are just fine for doing a retro. TYC is actually one of the better projector headlights out there. Pair it with some Valeos, good bulbs (4100-4300k), and some ballasts. Youve got yourself some headlights just like those Beemers.

you mean like these? thats my car btw. those are true bmw 3 series bixenons with zkw lenses. top-o-the-line lenses. theyre clear as water. again, i would advise against TYC headlights considering what ive seen on 7thgencivic but it all depends on what you want.

I spoke with one of the guys from HID planet. their Bosch kit will fit in the TYC casing. the only this you need to do to the casing is remove the TYS projector lenses and slide the Bosch ones in place. YOu will also need to buy or make a harness. Everything else is included in the kit.
