Default element grewpies..

im on the market for a element now..

all 3 trims have the same exact motor, so the bucks are related to options.. so lets brake it down..

LX EX and SC

rear sun roof only in LX and EX AWD's and SC's..
LX and EX don't have carpet..
LX doesn't have overhead storage bin, and map lights.
LX doesn't have premium sound or a subwoofer
LX has crappy wheels.
LX doesn't have storage compartments on the back of the front seats.

im sure they're more to list.. but i basicly want a LX AWD (for the rear sunroof) but the overhead storage and maplights.. also the subwoofer..

i can prolly skate on the sub.. but does anyone know if the overhead and map lights can be added onto the LX?

IIRC the SC has 10 more horsepower than the LX and EX.

Also, the SC does not have a "sky light"

I am not sure if you thought it did, or not.

negitive... all 3 trims have the same EXACT motor.

from the honda brocher..

2354CC
166HP @ 5800
161LB @ 4000
87 X 99 stroke
9.7:1 compression
16V iVTEC
LEV-2 EPA

all 3 trims have the same motor across the board.

looking into it more.. the SC does NOT come with sunroofs, your right, and SC's are the only one with carpet and painted quarter panels.

after weighing out the options in the EX vs the LX, im going to dish out the extra money for the EX.

im getting map lights and overhead compartment.
premium sound with XM and sub woofer.
AUX and 12V power source on dash
extra 12V plug in the trunk
literature bags on the back of the front seats.

I stand corrected. For some reason I thought I heard the SC had a little more juice.

It has more brake horsepower because it's just a 2wd, but flywheel horsepower is the same.

makes sense. It seems like it has more zip than the EX AWD's that I test drove. Not that it really matters, it is not a race car.

I think the Element sc does have a little bit more horses(10). Yes it is the same engine but something is different. I cant remember what issue of Honda tunning, it has an article about the SC.
http://www.elementownersclub.com/
is a good source for element articles

da E's a great ride. I just bought 1 on 1/8/07.
only complaint is the lack of power... Honda should of dropped the RSX type S motor in there...

yeah, I've read a lot about that. I'm just too lazy to deal with cars right now...

I bought da E cuz:

1. I wanted a break from workin on/moddin' cars for a while...
2. I'm old... (34 this year)
3. I was sick of worryin' about my ride being jacked...
4. I had 2 cars and wanted to "simplify" my life.

all and all this is a GREAT suv/car/lunchbox. I've got about 1600 miles on it right now and I just ABSOLUTELY love it!!! (besides the lack of power...) If you ever decide to pick 1 up, I'm pretty sure you'll be pretty happy with it!

misc info: I had a 95 JEEP Grand Cherokee V8 and a 98 Civic 4dr w/ B18C1 swap. EK was definitely fun to drive and it was the super sleeper... it suprised a lot of people.
