Willl 92-95 H22 bolt into a 2000 Prelude?
Does anybody know if a 92-95 H22 will drop into a 2000 Prelude or not? They're both H22a.. except the new Prelude have an ATS system.. Does anybody know? Thanks.
the motor itself should drop in w/no problem.... i'm not sure about the atts.
do you want to drop the motor only? tranny as well?
also, 92-95 is OBD1, and 2000 is OBD2 so you gotta keep that in mind.

That's not so big a deal. You could convert it to OBDII by using the 2000's distributor and exhaust pipes (2 o2 sensors), it would be a very easy swap. Are you after the 93-96 closed deck design or something?
What is this open/closed deck thing anyway? This is the main difference in the 4th gen and 5th gen H22a's...and I have no clue what it is.
open deck engines run a little cooler because the design lets out more heat than close deck..but really doesnt matter that much...as long as you tune the engine right..and why are you putting a 92-95 h22 into a 2000 prelude? are you just trying to do a obd1 conversion or did you blow the 2k h22a? if you just trying to do the obd1 conversion you can do it easier by swaping out the distributor and getting an adaptor, etc. if you blew the motor and are thinking about getting a 92-95 h22a your atts wont work with it since it runs off the computer unless you are planning to use your current computer but that would require an obd2 conversion...just my 2 cents.
Closed Deck Block
Open Deck Block
The open deck block is a pic of a guys h22a off of hondaprelude.com, the closed deck one is mine.
