Default 170hp

I have asked this question in another forum, but i want some feed back from some of the ht members. For an b18b what are the chances of me hittin 170hp (wheels) with mods i'm gonna to list:
Skunk2 Intake manifold
Rods (either crower or eagle)
Pistons (maybe GSR pistons)
crower 62404 or 62403 (what do you recommend) w/spring kit
FPR
mild P&P
vtec Tranny
tuned
if you guys feel something is useless please inform me.

Are you going to FI this car? If not then I don't think the rods are necessary, stock GSR rods are strong enough.

im pretty sure that tha GSR pistons wont fit into your B18B, being non-vtec and all.
if you do a P&P with cams and some tuning i think youd be looking at 150 maybe 160whp i think...

No no no, as long as its a B18B then B18C1 pistons will fit. Just the stroke is a bit longer but the bore is the same so he would be fine. Have you already taken care of the cars breathing? (intake, header, cat., catback exhaust)

170 is kind of optimistic. why are u getting a "mild" port and polish...get a full race head(port /polish,valvetrain,valve job). good luck.

In order to hit high horsepower in an LS motor you have to use large cams. Large cams equal crappy idle. I had a LS motor in my 94 hatch that ran 13.7 at pomona. All i had was t/b, chipped LS ecu, race head, 390 cams (not sure exact specs), cam gears, ported GSR header (this was b4 all the good headers came out, way old school style), aluminum pulley, and tuning. No other mods what so ever. I made 164 whp i believe. The torque curve was very nice. The car however idled like crap cuz of the cams. But boy was it fun driving around. Got lots of attention cuz of the lumpy idle. Sounded kinda like a v-8 going blop blop blop blop at every intersection.

I guess 170whp is possible, however i recommend b20 and using custom pistons with that.

Why do you have a GSR tranny mated to the B18B1?
