Gas / Fuel Mileage Thread
I am considering buying a 2003 EX 4door with automatic and am wondering what kind of mpg similar people get. This will be a stock car for daily driving so it won't be driven hard. I average 34-36mpg with my 99 LX D16Y7 with auto, so I'm curious how this newer one would do.
What do you think I can expect.

05 Ex 5-speed. I don't baby it, and have yet to get below 33 MPG, that includes trips to NYC and being stuck trying to get to the Holland Tunnel etc. If I drive thinking about fuel economy I can get high 30's. 40 seems to be a one shot deal, I think the pump might have been inacurate.
My friend has an 05 EX auto and he usually gets around 32 MPG all the time. He's as erratic a driver as a woman PMS'ing.

Ive read about people who in perfect conditions, with no wind or a little tail wind to help yah out getting almost 39 mpg.
(I've actually gotten 53 mpg once with my 04 hybrid, which is nuts. rarely happens, and around 55 mph)

the wrong kind of oil? like instead of the 5W-20, I put something else? truth be told I changed the spark plugs, but I had my oil changed because I don't have a jack or something. So I don't know what kind of oil they put in there.
I saw it on another thread, but never got an answer, does it take more gas to coast in neutral, i dodnt think so, but "7thgenyuk" (I beleive) said it took , more gas
Thanks

WTF?
It takes just as much gas running at idle than it does coasting in Neutral.
What consumes the most gas in your typical car is the act of accelerating.
