Default Signed Up For Welding Classes....I Be Fabbin'

Welp, i finally signed up for some welding classes at a local adult night class thing (starts feb 20th). im pretty stoked. ive always been into fabrication and stuff, just never really had too many welding skills. i can mig weld, but only after the settings are adjusted for me, so i have alot to learn but i think i will catch on nicely. i cant wait to be able to TIG! hopefully this will result in me being able to fab up all the ideas in my head, maybe make some money on the side for my supa sweet stuff haha, and get my foot in the door at a good paying job.

i cant wait! just thought id share....i was a machinest for 2 years, thats sweet too, but welding is so much more feasable out of my garage

Good Stuff man. I have been doing classes for almost a year now. When you are ready to jump into GTAW dont get discouraged with it. It takes some practice to get all of your body and mind functioning as one. I took an Oxy Fuel class first to get used to dipping a filler rod and moving with a torch in my other. Has helped me tremendously in my GTAW. Also when you get into TIG and using the foot pedal set the amprage way higher than what you need it on. Carbon Steel is what I started on. I was at 165-170A that way I couldn't cheat my self and just slam the pedal to the floor and move with it, but at 165-170A you'll blow right through. Helps learn heat input and control.

Good Luck with the classes time flys and you wont want to put it down from here.
