everytime i run my car at the track...i have tried many ways to launch, i usually launch at 3200-3600 rpms, i get a good launch and take any type r , gsr, ls, first gear, once i hit 2nd gear, my car slows down, i dont know whats wrong, it feels fast but usualy thats when people pass me and i lose the race, it lags afer first gear, what could be wrong, i have intake and exhaust. dohc vtec gsr b17a thanks

 

how well do you maintain your car? what was the last maintainance work and tune-up you did and what did it consist of?

 

the last thing i did was change my oil and before that i changed my spark plugs about 7 months ago, what do u suggest i can do for better perforamance, like a minor tune up thanks

 

well, if you just bought the car and have no idea when the last owner did any kind of maintainence, i'd get a tune-up. valve adjustment, coolant flush, distributor cap/rotor, tranny fluid, belts, hoses, etc. that's what i did when i first got my car and it ran great afterwards. make sure your car is in great running shape before doing any mods to it. good rule of thumb.

 

i know this sounds stupid but, are you red lining it at shifts? if you shift too early youll bog down in the next gear.

other than that practical things to check would be all the fluids and maybe have your tranny looked at.

 

yes i am redlining, i shift around 8000 - 8200, i dont know whats wrong..it was better couple weeks ago
