Default **1st** 4bidden SS review for 5th gen.....go ahead and bow down :-)

hahahahahaa, GOTCHA.

the 5th gen forbidden shifter has yet to come out and as some of you know, i swapped to the 4th gen cables and shifter allowing me to run the 4th gen 4bidden SS.

i REALLY liked just how the stock shifter felt compared to stock 5th gen. and now, with the forbidden.......just put it this way, every review you have ever read about it is 100% true. I have it set in the middle right now and its just absolutely perfect. Flick of a wrist and you are in gear. The shifts are amazingly clean and crisp just like all the reviews have said. I really wasnt expecting it to be this dramatic of a change in the way it shifts but man is it something else

thanks to airmax for selling it to me

heres a link for other 5th genners who may want to follow my path if they break their shift cables.

should have thought about this before taking the stock shifter out, but here are some aerial views showing the distance between shifts:

dont hate on the frog. That thing has been in my car for 3 years. Since i got the oil pressure gauge installed on the dash, it usually spends its time hugging the gauge

and.....no.

i have a question that is kind of relating to this. I have a 4forbidden short shifter. the shift cables in my 4th gen prelude have adjusting nuts on them. What do they do? night now about 1inch on thread is comming out of them? if i thread that back in will it make it shorter?

Only the smaller (select) cable should have the threads and nut. That is to adjust your neutral position to your desired position.

Glad you like it Blake!!

So not to go to far off topic, but... Are you saying that we can adjust the cables w/o worries as long as the stops on the (OEM)shifter don't limit travel.

That would be great as currently the shifter is further away from the driver then it should be.

I thought about that myself (being a weight reduction ***** and all ), but how much lighter is CF or CK going to be than the stock plastic? Probably not much at all...unless you want it for bling, then go for it.

well, it would be one of those things that you do if you "come upon" a little bit of money and dont mind spending it on a one of a kind part so its not really about the weight.

I mean really, could you imagine putting your morning coffee in a cupholder made of carbon kevlar? thats ****** pimp. teehee

but for now, having no center console makes no difference to me.

Haha I'm another one hoping to do a custom console too. I'll get all defensive about about the so called flaws that people say preludes have, but I can't defend the cheap and easy to break plastic Honda used for the interior. Stupid center console! Stupid door handle trim!
