Default .040 PD....To Much for a D16Y8???

Im wanting to build a Y8 with either PM7 or P29 pistons. The only thing I am worried about at the time is the .040 PD. I know the Y8 is stock with a .020 PD, will this be too big of a gap? Im worried about quench and how safe this would be.

People use these pistons in Y8s on a very regular basis.
