The first starter I got from Auto paradise imports..didnt work. They gladly exchanged it. That one worked for about 2 days. Now the alternator I got from them dosent work either. My tach, radio, and clock were intermitent. I checked my alternator, and it looked like the power wire was a little loose...problem solved. Well I went to tighten it and the post broke off...grrrr So I drove home on a weak battery, and just as i pulled into my parking spot...the car died. Crappy junk yard parts...never again!!

thats almost as bad as buying tires, or batteries from them too

 

hey you can find good stuff in junkyards. especially if you can pop open jammed trunks. GOLDMINE well not exactly but its still fun.

 

How dare you talk trash on junkyards! That place is like a candy shop
but seriously, i wouldnt buy wearable parts like alternators and starters from there. Unless you can find a new looking one. I always keep an eye out for just-replaced oxygen sensors

 

LOL, theres a reason those cars are in the junkyard! Starters and Alternators can be bought at Pep Boys for $70 reman. Get it there. Get only simple not easily broken things from the junkyard.

junkyards are awesome, especially if you go to one right on the outside of a wealthy area. its even better it specializes in honda/acura. I'm so lucky

 

o.k., o.k....I just needed to vent. Junkyards are a great place to find stuff...I've just learned my lesson about, electronics...

Junkyards are like heaven....at least most of them. Some around me charge you more than buying a new part...their kinda stupid. You can find such good deals at them but there is just some stuff that you shouldnt buy from the junkyard, and I would have to say a starter and alternator is 2 of them. Dont diss on junkyards because you got a bad part.

junk yard tires are the best, you can get some for like $5 pair here in Ottawa (canada) and you burn the **** out of them... i wouldn't get any for my every day set but you know... boring friday night, big empty parking lot!

 

my whole interior came from a junk yard, I switched it from blue to black. I seem to run itnto the day after it rains thing too. I love to go rotting around the junk yards, but not for starters and alternators, or tires. lol
