i bought a Total loss crx. thinking it wouldnt be that much for damage (and it wasnt). i sunk in 2500$ for a sohc zc engine, rims and tires, and lowering springs. all was well with roxanne (my crx) until my brakes went on me. took it to a garage (cause i dont have a garage (heated), or tools to work with). they looked at the car and showed me that i need new springs (luckily i had some on hand, and some other things along with it.
it will be around 2000$ to fix with parts and labor. so that'll be 4500$ altogether i have spent on it.
its starting to rust, and i checked into how much it would cost to restore the car (4 new fenders, doors and sunroof), considering they would have to weld the new ones in, prime it and then paint it, would come out around 8000$ for everything (just for the body work).
now here is where i stop and ponder. do i keep the car cause it does have sentimental value to me, save up and do the body work to it. or sell it off and get a different crx, like one from the states.
i have had all these plans to do turbo on it and such.
there is like 2 crx's on the hondamarket site that really caught my eye. but i'm really short on cash till about april.
now considering that there is more people selling they're cars in the summer time i think i can save up my money and buy something from the states (considering i live in canada)
keep in mind that the prices i qouted are in canadian dollars. and if i were to get a car from the states i have to get it shipped up here by semi-truck trailer thingy lol.
anyways i need your opinions. feel free to ask me any Questions.

Those prices are ridiculous. You could take bodyshop classes and buy your own materials and fix it for a fraction of that cost. $2000 CAN for springs? I think you need to find a new shop, they're totally bending you over.
Or for some extra cash, sell those rims and tires. I had some on my car for about 3 months then realized the $$$ I spent on them should've gone towards mechanical issues.

no hahaha. 2000$ for fixing all four brakes that include pads, rotors, calipers. and also fixing the springs (installing my lowering springs) and buying new kyb GR2 struts. also including brake fluid flush, oil change. i also need new bushings too.
you have to account the labor into that as well. if i had a garage...trust me.....i would do all that, plus more. INCLUDING the body restoration project too!
this sucks lol

first learn more about your car and common prices for OEM parts that apply to your car.
Second do the work yourself who needs a garage...i did a motor swap outside on jack stands and my own tools...
Lastly dont post retarded threads...its your car either you will save it or sell it...damn Hondatech is you RO
