Default What shold I do to ensure my 95 accord lasts another 30-40k Miles?

I have a 95 accord LX. Its mostly stock, except for the SRI w/ K&N Intake.

I need it to last me another year or two, possibly 3, so I am wondering if there is anything I should be doing.

Some Car Specs..

95 accord lx
130k Miles
Oil changed every 3k
Tires Rotated/Balanced every 7k
Tranny flushed 10k ago

Should I run fuel cleaner or injector cleaner through?

Anything else I should be doing?

Thanks!

You should change the timing belt and water pump if you haven't already. Other than that just stay up to date with you scheudled maintenance and you should be ok. There are plenty of 95's with twice your mileage still running.

Don't ever drive it. Serioulsy, just take it easy on the car. Like Slunk said, Honda's last mostly forever with just a little preventive maintence(fluid change, no beating the crap out of the redline, simple replacement parts), hell I've seen honda's with a half a million miles on them. Still ran strong. Of course they took very good care of the car and replaced things before they were broken.

I never redline, much less rev over 4-5k, I usually keep it under 3k for shift, its an AT, I never floor it.

I noticed my suspension squeeks when I go over speed bumps, should I get that checked out?

If your tranny is on its way out, don't change the fluid. Leave the fluid alone and just drive it. Use OE honda fluid.

Change the intake back to the stock & use a good quality paper filter.
K&N's filtration sucks. Regular paper filters FTW.

White box stock air filters are $7/each at arizona autohaus.

Switch to Purolater oil filters availible from Pepboys. They're best in class/cost.

Drive the car gently until all fluids/oils are warmed up. Keep it under 3.5k until ambient temps are reached.

Mine squeeks to. I dont worry because my tires arent cupping and the tread is fine. It depends on how bad it is but listen to your tires and make sure they arent squelling etc. Look at the treads for unusual wear... and use a book to analyze the different problems tires can have. My car has 175000 miles on it and I have the stock suspension.

yeah, It's healthier for your car. It's stock for a reason, it works more efficiently. Maybe less flow but cleans out impurities better... sorry.

95 Accord is a good year.

to make it last 3+ years:
-change the oil every 3k miles with GOOD oil
-DONT DOG THE **** OUT OF IT
-keep up with all fluids
-keep an eye on tread
-GET AN ALIGNMENT
-check all your belts
-do a tune up

I recently had a Valve Adjustment, New Cap and Rotor, Sparks, and wiring replaced. I think ill throw the stock intake back on there, my sri is freakin loud.

Just keep doing what you are doing man, you treat her fine.

FWIW, i've seen Honda's that are daily driven survive 300k+ miles just because they were properly maintained, that's despite the owners redlining frequently and driving HARD.

Its all about maintenance

PS: i boosted mine when it had 218,000km (just over 135k miles)...its at 250,000km now (156k miles) after 2.5 years and the engine is still great.

Keep up on the maintainance... and in my own personal opinion... do not run seafoam through your engine. If some kid with a "mad tyte honduh" tells you to do something... slap him in the mouth and do some research first.
On 2 separate occasions I've seen seafoam lead to nice knocking... if it isn't broke, and isn't a recommended maintainance procedure, don't do it.

I don't think seafoam is bad in moderation. It's all about how you do it. It certainly isn't necessary but it does help the car run better in general. I only used a 1/4 of a can while some people run a whole can through their system. Also I wouldnt think letting your car stall out by putting so much is a good idea either because if you introduce a expletive load at once, that would be what would dry your gaskets out.

All this talk about driving it easy is a bunch of BS if you ask me. My 97 LX has 170K+ on it. I drive it rather hard every day and have never had any issues with it. I do all the preventative maintenance when scheduled. It is not how you drive it, its how you take care of it.

Stop being paranoid about breaking something and go have fun with your car. The only time you really have to start worrying about breaking parts is when you start making some good power over stock (ex.. boost)
