JDM b18c5 itr to 96LS? need advice from some vets...
Hello all, I am new to this group, and new to Honda. my expertise really lies with motorcycles...
Background: I bought a wrecked teggy and fixed it all up. I absolutely love the car. Currently it needs timing belt and all related crap, motor mounts, and a clutch. the exhaust gasket also leaks. The motor has 96k miles on it. i paid 600 for the car and put new wheels, brakes, and suspension on it, bringing the total to 1300. not bad!
My question is this: Since i got the car for so cheap and i love it, i am willing to sink money into it. The motor has seen better days, so i just wanna swap it out. i was looking at this website ( http://www.streetimports.com/p...d=952) and i am thinking about buying this motor. i know that in addition to the motor i will need belts, shift linkage, and other junk. Is there anything else i would need? Is it worth it for this motor and parts, or should i go with a gsr motor? should i stick with USDM motors? has anyone delt with the above website? i will have about 5500 dollars to spend on this swap...
any advice would be greatly appreciated, since i am not having much luck searching the forums... thank you in advance!

do compression and leakdown test to determine the health of the engine. if those numbers come out good, boost that bitch.
thanks for the responses...
btw thats 5 grand for 200HP (actually more because of the headers and the stainless exhaust, as well as the intake i already have), axles, headers, and motor mounts. consider this: just to make my motor good, i am gonna need at least 400-500 bucks for the parts that it needs. then adding a vtec head, and putting a turbocharger on an already old motor does not seem like it would pay off in the long run. my time dealing with that bullshit is also valuable. i want to put a new motor in and forget about it until hopefully 50-90k miles down the road something major breaks and i junk the car and buy a new one.
thanks for the ref to hmotorsonline, the seem like they have some good stuff there...

I'd say if you were going to do a swap that Hmotors would probably be the best place to buy from. But yeah LS/VTEC and LS/Turbo are other good alternatives
I'd look around more into those options before you decide on buying a new motor.

Dont turbo it.

since you already have an integra, you wouldn't need motor mounts and shift linkage. You would need a jumper harness to run the ITR ecu on your LS, and you would have to add a few wires to your existing harness that the LS doesn't have, but its not hard. 5k is a lot for an R motor IMO. you could save a few grand by swapping a GSR/SiR-G motor in there and upgrading that with some cams and bolt ons.
or, like said before, a low boost turbo setup on the LS engine would make more than 200hp and be cheaper.
