Problem with interior lights caused by stereo or maybe alarm....????
I just got my car back from the shop after it had been away for a month from being stolen.
I took it to a local shop to have all of the alarm wires reconnected and to have some add'l things added. After they were done, I happened to notice that my parking lights did not flash as they have always done before.
The next day I installed my new stereo (the Pioneer DEH8400MP.. it's freakin' awesome) with an amp and a sub. That night when the sun went down and I turned on my headlights, I noticed that I could not see how fast I was going because the lights in my dash were not working. Obviously I tested the dimmer switch which did nothing and checked all the fuses. At this time I noticed that the parking lights were flashing like they were supposed to.
Needless to say after trips to two different shops and back the alarm installer, as of today my parking lights don't flash again, and my dash lights still don't work.
Does anyone have any ideas? Having blind speed at night really sucks!

first check behind the radio orange/white if you have a harness, if not, replace interior lights fuse and check with a test light which wire comes on with the park lights. cap it off, or, if your schwagoneer has a ILL. input hook it up to that.
if that doesnt fix your prob, your alarm installer has either caught the wrong parklight wire or has polarity wrong. any shop with a real install staff could figure this out in minutes.
good luck and let me know what it was.

The alarm installer did all of that when I took my car back, but I am going to tear it apart tonight to double check his work. I realize it could be something dumb, I keep looking and I just can't find it. I will try try try again. Wish me luck....
I double checked all my wiring and tightened everything up, now my parking lights are working, but I still don't have panel lights and all the fuses are still in good shape. ????
Is there a relay in the dimmer switch? Maybe that needs replaced? Maybe I need a drink...
