Very easy to install, safe is a point of view. You no longer have an airbag to cushion yourself, so that's significantly less safe than stock.

There are quite a few sponsors on here that sell complete packages. Weaksos does, and his packages are great.

The system I use:

Tekniq Auto

Street Snap off system comes with a lock on the collar so that it doesn't come off during driving.

Yes, I would have to agree. I like the fact that the collar and the mating hub on the steering wheel are keyed as well.

I'd spend the money and get it again.

Your car can always be stolen. A quick release is just a delay, not a prevention.

unless you are buying the name brand items used, i wouldnt go with knock off stuff. go check our sponsor section, especially from weaksauce, they have several packages and you can put together your own.

i used to run the tekniq street snap off system, it was a good system but mine had a bit of play over time and the pins got very hard to put out when detaching the wheel.

sold that to pick up the nrg v 2.0 qr mated to my momo hub and momo jet wheel. no play, excellent quality, and works very good for the last 9 months. i got it from weaksauce.

ebay, only the wheel was used, and it's dated sept 94 soo

and my stuff isn't "knockoff" as you suggest either, you saying that nrg is name brand? lol, i find it hilarious that people buy nrg qr and short hubs like they're going out of style, but won't be caught with their other parts

I mean, hey, I don't hate. Ya know. I drive a 17-year-old EF hatch. Saving $ is high on the priority list, and if it gets the job done...

nrg is widely sold and had have good reviews. i know several ppl that runs for them months with no problems. never heard of splitz, and that splitz qr doesnt look like its working well because the that brass pin is suppose to pop up when the qr is attached back on.

ppl are buyin the nrg qr systems because their price is half of those jdm aftermarkets systems that basically does the same thing nrg does. not all of nrg products are appealing to others.

NRG Shorthub and QR are pretty common, so you should pick up the lock with it as well...

NRG is what i have...i like it..

That is unfortunate that your Tekniq system didn't work. I've had my setup in my daily driver for over 3 years. No problems with play or steering wheel removal.

just because you haven't heard of it means nothing, i have a lot of parts nobody's heard of...the brass pin doesn't control the QR locking, the ***** lock into place with the sliding collar, i don't know if that's how the nrg works or not

true but that pin is like a safety pin in a way. on the nrg, u press down the pin then pull the ring back to release the wheel. just asking cuz it looks like it should be up.

I actually wanted to know how you would safely disable and take out your air bags before installing a qr set up...and has anyone been fined by a cop for having one since its illegal to tamper with your air bags?-Shift
