Lots of gunk/grime and oil in tranny bellhousing. Take it mainseals bad?
Bell-housing of transmission was covered in grime, grit, and oil. Then nice and cleaned 2 cans later of carb cleaner. Does this mean that the main seal has failed?

the whole inside of the bell-housing was black, with grime, dirt and oil-residue
