Default HID's?

I want to get some HID's for my 99 civic coupe, but i dont want to put in projectors because no matter which way its done they look horrible! So my question is "is there a way to put them in without blinding everyone?" Also i want it to not quite look stock but i dont really want stupid blue.....i was thinking 6,000k...any input/ pics would be much appreciated

If you don't like the look of projectors then you don't like the look of quality HID lighting.

IMO projectors would look hot in your car if done properly. The only disadvantage with any aftermarket HID in a civic whether it be a well done retrofit or a drop in kit is its illegel and 99% of cops out there (even the ones who don't know **** about cars) know that civics didn't come with HID's from the factory.

It just depends on where you live and how much your car screams pull me over, but if you are looking for the best quality out of an HID setup and want the least amount of risk of getting hassled by cops go Retro.

Retrofit is definatly the nicer way to go if you want HIDs but I guess it's not for everyone.
If you definatly aren't going to do a retrofit then I probably wouldnt go above a 6000k kit. Also look into some shields

Its not that i wanna do is the "cheap way" but i just can no stand the way projectors look in well in cars that arent made with the projector design inmind, and in ej's they look horrid!! I was thinking about a 6,000k kit but does anyone have pics of what they look like?

If you don't like the look of HID Projectors in the 96-00 Civic headlights, you can replace the halogen reflector of the Civic housing with an HID reflector (eg. IS300 or the older TL). Cutoff and color wont be as sharp as an S2000 or TSX, but it will not glare/blind oncoming traffic.

Retrofit FTW bro, none of that kit crap

still wont work. hid bulbs and ballst from those lexus are just bulbs and ballast. the reflector is BUILT into the actual housing.

Just buy a 5000K kit and run a shield.
