LS/VTEC/ tranny Q?S
my car is a 93 eg
ok nobody jump at me and bitch cuz i confused myself so what im wondering is if the ls block and then a b16 or b18 bead Vtec would be good combo and then idk at all about tranny wise
LS
GSR
B16
And dont laugh but i liked the D15b7 tranny on that motor but i toped it out at 115 in third gear if i had more motor i could have gone faster but ya no more power in the motor
and what ECU would i want to buy B16 one or B18 one
so ya and no smart *** comments please im trying to learn and research

a ls block if a vtec head is a cheap option to get gsr/type r power level..
tranny wise the b16a/gsr trannys are the best..
the ls tranny will give you longer gear.. but are a little too long.. you will bog like hell between gears.. will take all the fun out the motor..
btw its sad that you have to post a message like you did.. they are lot of big heads on honda-tech.. they think just cuz they read every honda-tuner mag in the last 5 years they are better then a noob.. i always post unbias advice.. except when it comes to canada.. cuz they sucks

No the trannys don't match up, B series wont fit on a D series.
Go with a gsr tranny or a b16 tranny for shorter gears. I think the b16 will be a little faster, not too noticable, but a little. Don't quote me on that.

HOLY CRAP.
It doesnt really matter, because it's the best your going to get, and you don't ave the capability to rebuild it and change the gears if it's not fast enough.

well does ne one who the speed u can get out the dears like what in first and what in second and what in third and **** like that etc.
well the max speed of each gear in the b16 is quite low. but in return it will provide a lot of acceleration. and acceleration is what's determined in a quartermile race. for daily driving.. i'd go with the gsr or the b16/ls 5th gear. my friend has a eg hatch with a b18/ls and a b16 and 5th gear feels like i downshifted for a race.

Why do you care? Don't be one of those idiots have thinks going 120 in 3rd gear is like uh so crazy. It doesn't mean ****, and is actually really bad gearing when it comes to Hondas.
To answer all your questions:
1) Either B16 or B18C head will be fine, just get whichever is in better condition/price. The difference is very minimal. (GSR head yields more compr, but B16 "has better flow" is the arguement but either one can be compensated by either porting the head or milling the head, respectively)
2) If you want your car to have the best gearing for racing, go with a B16 trans. If you want your car to be fast but are a little more concerned with gas mileage get a GSR trans
3) No stock ECU will really be ideal for the best power/reliability. Get a chipped P28 and get it tuned ASAP! If you want to go Hondata, AEM, E-man, whatever, do that.
