air coming from oil cap
i have a 2003 ex, stock. when i start the engine and remove the oil cap, i get air coming out. it might actually be a back and forth flow. as the engine warms it gets worse. i just changed the spark plugs, and they were burnt on the porcelin and the plugs and coils smelled burnt, and the inside of the contact was black. the rest of the contact was grey white.
do other 2003 civics have air coming from the oil cap? if not, what may be wrong.
ps. after i bought the car (used) i noticed the oil was overfilled about a quart. think it should be 3, they probably put in 4.
sorry the post is so long, but i wanted to get all the info in. thanks.

Well, air coming out of your open oil cap shouldn't be something to concern yourself over, since there's plenty of moving parts under your valve cover, stirring up air. You're not supposed to have oil pouring out when you have the cap off, that'd be way too much oil.
You should have roughly 4 to 4 1/2 quarts of oil in the car as well.

Yeah... 4 or 4.5 is WAY too much.
