my freinds valve train is a lil noisy, mainly cause he hasnt had a valve adjustment in a long time, what will runnin your car with loose valves do other than make noise?

 

after a white it will put alot of stress on the valves and might damage the head. the smart thing to do would be take it to Honda and get them adjusted (it isnt expensive)

 

or adjust them yourself

 

not everyone can do it their selves.

 

if you cant do a valve adjustment you really shouldnt be modding your car. unless you pay people to put your mods on too.

 

you also get poorer gas mileage and performance.

I agree entirely with doood. It's not that hard to do valve adjustments. I'm a 17 year old girl and I do my own valve adjustments to my civic, in fact, I'm about to do them right now. i can i do everything on my car cept im not a really good welder but im learning.

and your right some people would rather pay others to work on their car or just take it to honda. but its just personal preference.

 

It definatelly saves u money nowadays if u do work yourself

Eh, that's changing quicker and quicker as car companies are making their cars more and more difficult to work on so you have to bring it to the dealership.

If you compare the amount of special tools needed in a '97 car to the ones in an '07 car you'll notice you need a lot more "special tools" (as in tools you need to order special).

There was talk last year about one of the car companies like Benz (I forgot which, but a higher up car...not a honda) that were talking about not even giving it a "liftable" hood - as in you couldn't actually do work yourself because there's no physical hood.

Obviously it hasn't came out yet (or if it has, I haven't seen it) but it's a bit scary to think what working on cars 10 years from now will yield.

Porsche is almost there with the Boxster. With the Boxster you only had enough access to do routine fluid changes (oil, brakes, etc). Anything more major required you to drop the engine.

Though if you own a brand new porsche I doubt you'll be doing your own oil changes.

 

loose valves tap, and tight valves burn
