Default Brother trying to buy an ITR...How much is this one worth??

Brother found 2000 PY ITR in the mall with for sale sign. Guy wants 14,500 obo. Car has 49,500miles. There is one police accident report back in 2002 where there was minimal frontal collision. Car has header and CAI nothing else. Has a 2way alarm. Has $3000 sound system with the best Kenwood DVD player. Bro says that car is clean inside out and cant even tell there was any kind of damage to the front. Drives well and clutch is good. Should I tell him to go for it or wait a little longer for a better car. Hes been in the ITR market for about 3 months now and this was the best deal he found so far. Ill ask him for pictures. By the way we are both in the NJ area.

without pictures it's hard to say for sure, but that sounds like a decent price. i would try to get more information about the accident, and then see how much the guy would take without all the audio equipment.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Also, it looks like you did your homework. It should be OK.

sounds like a decent deal.

nobody really cares about $3000 stereo when it comes in a Type R.
it actually depreciates the value of the car.

You should be able to get a completely stock Type R for $14.5

Buy the caR sell the sound system! That's what I'd do at least. B18C5 music is all I wanna hear

Jersey sucks for ITRs Any chance he'll move out before getting an R?

The guy said he wouldnt take out the stereo system. He says the car is being sold as is. I told my brother exactly what you guys said. Buy the car and sell the DVD player, Amp, receiver and upgraded speakers. I told him if he wants music he can just guy the basics. Im still trying to get pics from the guy. And yes there are hondas and Acuras stolen all the time here in Jersey. We are actually moving back to Chicago soon. Hopefully if he buys the car it will stay in one peice and make it back to Chicago. Chicago still has high rate of stolen cars but not sure how diff it is from NJ.
