jdm s1 vs. usdm s1

whats the difference in these 2 transmissions? I cant seem to find a chart that shows them both.

JDM = Sohrt *** ITR style gears

How do you tell the difference, by just looking at it?

Good luck. I think externally they are indentical. I know you can use the same clutch disk on both so the tail shaft spline is the same.

you can't really. ..but... there is something up with the serial number code though....somthing in the serial code that will tell you where the tranny orginated from.

I thought the style of the sticker was different like the JDM is small gold and the usdm is bigger and with black and white plus there is a bar code.

the 90-91 US & 89-91 B-series tranny's share the gold sticker serial number.
the 92-93 YS1 US & JDM tranny's have the barcode version sticker.
