ran out of gas and wont start. please help
so i ran out of gas, put two gallons in, but it would not start. i checked everything. i have spark. i replaced the fuel filter, and i know that i have fuel up to the fuel filter but i dont know if i have after. i checked the timing and it is right. it turns over but then a pop comes out of the intake. fuel pump primes and gas shot out when i took a fuel line off. ecu has one code and that is o2 sensor. any suggestions
^^
Never heard of running out of gas causing your plugs or plug wires to fail and he said the pump was working.
Are you sure that you ran out of gas in the first place?

ya i was way below e, and thought i had enough to make it a mile down the road. stupid? yes i kno. pulled a plug today and it was wet. let gas evaporate, put back in. im stumped
There's an outside possibility that air got into your fuel lines and you're not getting the proper a/f ratio for combustion at the moment. Did you crank it a bunch of times after it died on you?
do you let your fuel pump prime before you crank it? like put your key in the aux position and let the fuel pump run until it stops, and then start it? and are you sure you tightened the lines back up? because if your fuel pressure isn't high enough, your car also wont run.
i have heard in the past that running out of gas is the best way to kill your fuel pump, although you are saying you are getting fuel.. so i would investigate how much fuel pressure you are seeing. this would be a good time to buy one of those fuel pressure guages you can mount under the hood for like $20 on the sponsor marketplace here. you might have also caused some damage to your fuel injectors, so you might go through a troubleshooting process with them also, to make sure they are ok.
the o2 sensor will not cause the car to not start. it only adjusts fuel trim, so it shouldnt effect anything enough that your car wont start.

Add some more gas, turn key on lets the fuel pump running for a min then try to crank it. Gotta let the fuel fill up the system man, cant rush it.
