Default Quick question on Password intake and hardware.

First off I have a 2000 civic si.

Questions 1:
I just purchased a passwordjdm j's imitation intake and I am wondering where people mounted the bracket to support the arm. I have found a few pictures on my searches through this forum but none of them are installed on a 2000 si (but i guess any 96-00 might be the same) Exact instructions or even pictures would help greatly. I don't want to damage the intake i just paid 200$ for.

Question 2:
While installing the intake I noticed a big piece of metal that I think I can remove but want to make sure what everything does first. The metal piece im talking about is the metal hardline that goes from the valve cover to the intake arm. It also has the map sensor connected to it and also there in a second metal hardline welded to the one from the valve cover. It connects two rubber hoses; one coming from below the intake manifold and the other from under the distributor area. Now I can imagine you can connect these two lines without the metal hardline but I just want to be sure of what it is. Is there liquid in this line? Is there a certain type (strength) of hose that I would need. I would think you could just buy like a 6in. piece of rubber hose and connect the two I just want to make sure I dont buy something thats going to give me a problem. (i.e. collapsing or bursting)

Sorry for the long post but I know how people get ripped apart on here for being too vauge. Haha Thanks in advance

Hello about the line running from your valve cover to the intake, that must be connected to the password JDM intake. You can use automotive grade rubber hosing available by the foot from any automotive shop to extended it if needed.

Now the support arm doesn't connect to the intake it just connects to your engine bay wall and the intake rests on top of the arm for support.

i hope this helps you out

I realize the one from the valve cover that connected to my STOCK INTAKE must connect now to the PASSWORD INTAKE. That line is not where my question was being aimed at. It was the second hard line (metal between two short rubber ends) that went from the intake manifold to under the distributor.

The support arm connects to where the clamp holds the filter on. I know it needs to go on the engine bay wall but I could not seem to find a good spot. Im asking for people that have actually done this and have a specific spot where they mounted it.

thanks though. I need a little input

1: Looking at the bracket online (http://www.passwordjdm.com/ski...e.pdf), it looks like the part that would support the intake could sit under the rubber mount of the filter. Then you would use the hose clamp to tighten it to the filter and intake arm. You might also have to bend the support bracket to help it line up with an existing hole or just drill a new one.

2: The second line has coolant in it. When I had an intake on my car, I was able to use one of those existing hoses to connect the two coolant ports.
