Is it fixable, and at what cost? Its been milled 40 thou chambers welded (looks like a backyard special huh). I'd like to have the damaged chamber fixed and the other 3 reshaped into something usable.

 

just buy a used head. Those gouges are pretty nasty

 

You'd be better cashing that in at a scrap metal place.

was this your head or one someone is going to pay you to take? looks and sounds like some shady stuff.



what the hell is that? they didnt even bother to try and clean it up. i wouldnt want anything to do w/ that head.

I never ran the head but a friend did. You'd be suprised, that **** was fast. I didnt know that this is what the chamber looked like though. He had an over rev incident and it backed up through the intake and spread the love all around.

 

if thats the worst of it, thats an easy fix. weve done 10x's more damage to where it had 0 of the seats seat left and still fixed them.

Unless you had some very radical plans, I mean the head flowing 300 billion cfm@0.5 then it is not worth it.

 

of course it can rocket. heat = expansion, cooling down = retraction. always weld with the seats out. then need to be resized once the welding is done.
plus that chamber work is really porous.
is that ok, or do i need to go into more depth?

id contact DonF on here and show him the pics. dont know if he would want to do it though. hes a excellent guy to know.

That will proabably cost around $400 to fix. Rough estimate.

considering a good condition head is around $250 i think $400 is a lot.

 

I would just get a new one just to save the trouble. That's pretty bad.!
