Default Lights

Idk if this is off topic or not. But i was just wondering what lights u guys were running? And how bright they are? I want headlights that have that hid look. But still light up the road really well. Anyone have any ideas or opinions?

BTW- i have after market projector headlights that take H1 bulbs.

Ummm I use Luminics. 9006 So far so good. The emit a blueish white light. So its good. Im not sure if projectors work better. But getting some fog lights would help when driving at night. Trust me, so much better!

I have the factory fog lights already. And they do help, ALOT. They offer much better side view. But im just wondering what headlights will give me that HID look. But still be nice white light. I don't want and outrageously blue tinted bulb that cuts down on light ouput. Im saving up for HID but want something for the mean time. And projector headlights also make a BIG difference over stock headlights. I LOVE the cut off line.

i'm not sure if your aware, i didnt know this till i asked my buddy, HID's dont have to be blue. There are diffrent intensitys that produce diffrent colours of light, I think that 8K is white 10K is blue and 12K is purple, just thought I would throw that out there.

However, as for halogens I find streetglow makes some nice bright white bulbs.

5K is white like direct sunlight at noon
6K is intense white with a blue tint
8K is blue
10K+ is purple

yea i understand what light temperature and all that is. and i kno all hid lights aren't blue. but im looking for a regular headlight bulb that has a HID blue tint to it. but doesn't cut down on how much visible light it has. so if anyone has any opinions plz let me kno. thanks

Do u think it would look good if i ran yellow lights as my regular headlights? You kno like the GT cars you see on speed channel. And would that be street legal for normal night driving?

Just cuz i think it would look cool. And what other cars do u see out there running yellow headlights. I mean everyone has nice white ones, and the super bright HIDs. But who have u seen that has yellow lights on there everyday car? Im just trying to be different.

The most yellow I'd go is the stock bulbs...
Anything more is just dumb... [impairs light output etc..]

actually human eyes see better with yellow light. for example you will see better with a yellow road side light than a white road side light in the same "candle power"

that's why most rally car uses yellow fog light.

http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/...t.htm

works for accords as well.

a little trimming on the 9005 (hi-beams) and they'll fit in the low-beam harness.

70% more lumens

just make sure you aim them properly or you'll have people flashing their hi beams at you

out of curiousity, do you guys prefer aftermarket bulbs (Luminics, SilverStars, etc) or HIDs?

I think HIDs are really just for show arent they? I know they can help you see better and they last longer, but wouldnt you rather get aftermarket bulbs for the same view quality? Maybe a matter of preference I guess....
