help! which bushing kit?
hey guys, its about time to replace all my bushings....except my trailing arms, lol, i have been researching for a little, but i can't get a complete list of what bushings are actually included and quality of the product, es, prothane, energy....blah blah blah, so in short, which kit gives me the most complete set and has good quality, thanks
Most people in this board tend to stay away from Energy Suspension and Prothane, and actually tend to use OEM or some of the Mugen Pieces.
Do a search and you'll find some good information in this board.

well, to my understanding and some experience, mugen and oem share many of the same parts, as mugen is basically a branch of honda, and im pretty sure their bushings are the exact same thing, what about ES bushings, any info on theirs, and if any of the veterans would like to chime in and state what you use i would greatly appreciate it
There's really nothing wrong with ES bushings... just make sure to get the black ones and lubricate the hell out of them. The red bushings lack the impregnated graphite present in the black bushings. As such, the red ones will deform and tear quite quickly (especially if this is a street car). The one exception to the ES bushings is that you really don't want to use them in the RTA. I'd suggest going with Mugen parts there...

I personally don't have a problem with poly provided you maintain them properly. If you drive the car on the street don't expect them to last any more than 2 years at most. I treat them as a wear item.
Here is a vid that was posted about 2 months ago as to what happens to poly bushings.

I have the Hardrace bushings in my car, and am very impressed. I got mine off ebay. You have to search just about every day. The whole set was only $180 shipped (thats new trailing arm bushings as well)

did you install the trailing arm bushings? i have heard bad stories about installing anything other than brand new oem pieces into the trailing arms, and thes hard race bushings aren't a poly compound? just harder rubber? thanks

We used a 50 Ton Hydrolic press at my dads work to press in all the bushings. We were able to have machinests make a bunch of different adapters for the different sized bushings.

The interesting thing here, imo, is that the only cars that seem to have problems with the ES poly bushings are the EG+ and DC+ cars. EF's and earlier generation Teg's run them without any issues. Perhaps something to do with the move away from radius rod style front suspension design?
Im currently running all ES bushings with the exception of the RTA bushings where I am running the Prothanes. Everything is working great for me so far. Btw, my car is not daily driven so I cannot vouch for their long term durability. I researched on here as well before choosing mine. I think if I were to do it all over again for a dd, i would probably go factory honda or mugen or a combination there of. I hope this helps and have fun with the installation
thanks, yea mine is a dd until i get out of highschool, then it will be driven only to get me home every other weekend from college for the next 4 years, then after that, it becomes my project car, and i will buy a real dd, but we will see
