Default Help me save some money, Tranny prob

92 accord auto trans. Well I was accelerating on a on ramp to the h-way and the car jerked then when i gassed the pedel only RPMS went up but nothin as far as going forward. Coasted off the H-way and the car would still idle forward but nothing when pedel depressed. Pulled into a parkin spot and shut the car off. Tried to restart but it wouldn't. Only the whine of the starter. Not sure what to do, had to drop 100 for the tow and they want 75 for a tow and 75 for the inspection at the repair shop, just to tell me what is to be fixed. Thanks

AAAplus anybody? Try using 1st 2nd and seeing if it moves. If not I'd skip the auto BS and start pricing parts for a 5spd swap.

check your fluid levels. If the fluid is brown, change it and change the filter. i'd start praying that there is no torque converter damage, and its just low fluid.

Interesting idea Fana, do they have a "refuse to work" mode like engines when fluid is so low? I meant see if the 1-3 gears work while driving to see if its a specific gear.

Check your axles.
Check to see if your torque converter is turning.

If it wont start and the starter is whining it sounds like the torque converter.
