What kind of Rubber to use?
this is more a technical question rather than just what looks good. i am not too familiar with what all to look for. i know there are plenty of people on here who can help me out. i need to know what kind of treadwear, traction, etc to look for.
if this needs to be deleted then thats cool. i am just wondering what i need to look for.
and btw, the tire will be used for commuting back and forth to work everyday... about 55 miles. and it will also be used at the track and when doing a little street racing. i would appreciate some solid input

There's a ton of different options. First and foremost how much are you looking to spend?
17" wheels?
Does it snow/rain a considerable amount in your area?

I went with Nitto Neogens after talking with Tom from discounttiredirect and Type X. They seem to fit my needs and have a tread pattern to deal with cars with slight camber issues - aka my car after the drop. Plus they are very affordable!

If your spinning "though fifth"
your going to need Advan or Azenis 615
which have HORRIBLE tread wear but are sticky as sin
if you play... you have to pay.

these are for 17's. stock si rims. but im not concerned about money. i will pay extra to ride in safety. i never understood when people bought the cheapest tires they could and they were bald within a few months. that is why i was asking if someone could shed some light on what treadwear and traction ratings to look for. it rarely ever snows in memphis. we will probably be getting an ice storm here soon, but will only last a few days. weather here is usually just humid as ***** and hotter than hell. i appreciate the input thus far, but i really need someone to help me understand what treadware: 360 is and traction: A etc.
