d15b into 97 EX questions
I got a 97 EX coupe and my d16y8 finally give out. I ordered a d15b short block and was just wondering what i need to do to make it run. I still have all my d16y8 stuff but someone told me I need to get a p28 ecu and switch over to obd1 OR I could just switch my y8 head onto the d15b and plug everything back like it was.
Is any of that true???

yes all of it is true. i would use your y8 parts and keep it obd2 for the conservation of money. just put your y8 intake mani on the d15b and ghetto rig your y8 dizzy on there or try and rewire the d15b one to plug into your obd2 plugs if thats possible i dont know much about obd2 its past my time. but dont convert to obd1 unless you want to waste money.
so let me get this straight, all i have to do is swap my harness on the d15b,swap my y8 manifold on it, and just hook everything back up like it was?
Y8 parts = distributor, alternator, wiring harness, injectors,
transfer those parts to your d15b i dont know why you would need to transfer the intake manifold... other than that though everything should bolt right up. Some jdm vtec solenoids are different than usdm so if ur harness doesnt plug into the vtec solenoid transfer from the y8 to the d15b
