1. how do I get the camshaft holders off??
2. how do I get the cam gears off (no special tools)??
3. how do I get the rubber plug behind the vtec solinoid off??
4. do I need to try to keep everything TDC??

oh forgot to mention I need to know this for swaping LMAs

Bring the motor to TDC.

Mark with a sharpie on the timing belt the position of the cam gears.

Before removing the distributor, mark the position with a sharpie where the top bolt is.

Starting in the middle, partly loosen the cam caps. Do not remove the cam gears from the cams.

Remove the 12mm and 10 mm bolts from the cam caps, then lift the cams from the head. Put EVERYTHING in order, where it should be, on a clean towel or piece of cardboard. You may need a soft mallet to work the cam caps off of the head.

You should be able to remove the LMA's from the head with a magnet.
