Benefits of lighter motor parts..?
What is the overall advantage of lighter pulleys and flywheels ect.. Just weight reduction or does it actually create less resistance on the motor IE more power makes it to the ground?
i have seen dyno results that show that the pullys do wont..but only usually frees up a few hp 2 or 3 from what ive seen.i may be wrong but i think im close and for the lightweight flywheels from what i understand they allow your rpms to clim faster...?not sure of other benifits..

Pretty much answered your own question. Same principal as having heavy wheels vs light weight wheels. Less parasitic loss on the motor with weight reduction benefits. Helps the motor rev more freely.

lighter flywheel allows the motor to accellerate faster, good for racing applications. But because they are light, the have less inertia and kenetic energy. Because of this, lighter components hurt gas mileage because there isnt enough weight to keep components spinning.

The power created by changing out pulleys depends on the engine setup. If you're just changing them out on a stock motor you probably won't see as much gains as you would on a supercharged motor.
