The Day has come... another EG stolen thread 1/20/07 NJ
EDIT:: Got the call from JC police, car was recovered in Newark, so i'll have to get a release and check it out on monday. The officer didn't know the condition but i know its probably stripped, so how do i go about getting it back to my house? I have AAA so can i call them up to flatbed it back home?
EDIT2:: Well went to see the car today 1/29/07, and brought her home. Check page 2 for the aftermath
EDIT3:: Shell is sold...hopefully she'll be better with a new owner
I knew someday i would be making this post once i got my EG two years ago... Its probably chopped and in parts by now but please keep a lookout for any parts or see it around.. thanks

oh and for the inevitable question, it had Autolock on the clutch and my two kill switches were on. My car was parked on a very nice one way street (not alot of traffic at all), there was a driveway infront of me so my front was exposed... which leads me to believe it was towed away.

Damn man, sorry to hear, that was a damn nice setup you have. So tired of these threads having to come up at LEAST once per day. I know it probably won't help but we have a lot of scum around these parts so I'll keep an eye open.

The parking was probably the mistake
.
You don't want to park where there's NOT a lot of traffic and NOT a lot of people.
Sorry to hear about it
.
Hopefully you'll get lucky. My friend got his civic jacked, but apparently they didn't have a jack....so like, all of the interior was stuff was gone, the header was still on, the engine was still in, the wheels were still on
.
Though there is a harsh reality to it
.
Sorry to hear, thieves really make owning hondas a bitch.

I don't know about tow - but they can flatbed it away.
The winch on a flatbed can EASILY drag it up - wheels locked 'n all onto the bed.

thanks for the sympathy HT, i've no doubt it was flatbeded... roll right up and winch it.
i've had my previous car stolen before (civic hx-t) so i've already gone through the shell shock... i've written this off as a gonner.
still a lil hope something will show up... a shell maybe?

hopefully you've secured your investment and parts with a nice insurance policy that was notified every time you modded it. If i do something custom wise I always notify my insurance so that the new stuff is covered. So, were your mods covered or what?
many thieves use flatbeds. ive heard of cars getting flatbed stolen right out of mall parking lots in that area of jersey.
you can take all the safety measures you want, but if a thief really really wants your car they will wind up with it....sad truth imo. thats why im gonna make a self destruct button, when my car gets jacked ill push the button and it will blow the hell up. if i cant have it no one will, any maybe ill blow up a thief or two in the process haha.... sorry to hear of your loss, i know how it feels i was a new jersey theft victim 3 years ago

just got off the phone with JC police... car was found in Newark, but condition is unknown (well i know its all stripped, but the officer on the phone didn't know). Have to pick up a release and head to the impound yard to see what's left on monday.
If its just a rolling chassis, should i take it back? how do i get it back home? i have AAA so can i call them up to flatbed it back home?
atleast i'll have some closure with whats left

got the call from the police, they have it now in the impound... did a quick ninja edit to the first post.
now question is, how do i get it back home or should i even take it back? can i sell it to the yard or something?

i would, but the scene is getting out of control...its like going back to the ice age, steal from anyone what you can't afford. im in a point in life now that i don't want to worry about this crazy ish anymore, also i dumpped alot of $ into the hatch and got nothing to show for it.
as much as i love the import/honda scene... its the low lifes and scumbags that make it not enjoyable anymore. having to worry everytime the car is out just isn't for me anymore. shoot, i only drove my car to work and back, just the few times i go to hang out... it gets the windows broken, or gets jacked. no thanks.
