Clutch recommendations
Need a new clutch soon, what do you recommend?
I don't care about pedal effort, but I drive 400+ km's weekly. I also frequently drag race and I like autocrossing too, so what I get needs to be good for both. Plus I'm broke as f*ck.

If you autoX, you'll be down shifting alot so you will need a "clipless" pressure plate. ACT, Action, and some HondaClutch(Herson) have this design. Otherwise you are going to have release problems when the clips tweak and prevent full clutch release.
Rocket: You sound like you know a lot about this... under what conditions do the 'other' designs prevent full clutch release? Thanks for the input
SmokeyMtnRex: What engine do you have? What kind of racing do you do? I'm looking for a grabby one since the stocker's so slow to 'catch' or bite between shifts, and I think it's slowing me down...
*edit* nevermind, you're C/SP
Would you recommend a suspension setup to me then? I don't care about classing since I'm already C/mod

When you down shift the clutch straps are in compression and this tweaks the clips so that the clips rub on the cover and makes the pedal feel rubbery and prevents full release.
Also if this happens regularly the straps will eventually fail. It's like if you pull on a paper clip nothing happens but if you start to bend it and pull it straight eventually it will break.
ACT, Action, and HondaCluctch also install more heavy duty straps.

um, if you down-shift unless the course is really small, you're driving wrong. i never need to shift out of 2nd. i just stay there. if you go any faster, than it's not quite solo II, but it's solo I.
anyway, i run an Exedy street clutch. it has 2 rows of the pressure plate "fingers". so, it's really soft pedal, but it engages really nicely. it's perfect for my B16a.

Clutchnet = poor pressure plates but good discs but poor friction materials.
Clutchnet still needs to get their act together. Last I herd they were looking for someone to do there pressure plates. I know because they came to us (Action Clutch) a while back to see if we could build their pressure plates.

I'm going with a ACT Extreem pressure plate, and a organic material faceplate.
I heard pedal pressure is pretty hard but grabs like no tommarow.
Getting it off of groupbuycenter for only 380 sumthin.

Organic's not for racing, but metallic's not for driving... what do you do?
Seriously though I think organic's the way to go... I'm not running a super-high-powered dragster here

I just did the Exedy 6puck racing and it grabs like a bitch and has a nice feel for the street, yeah its a hard pedal but its not that bad. I also used my stock fw.

Miba metallic is surpising streetable. This is what we use on Action discs. It's so streetable that the kids (teens and 20 yr olds) in here in Santa Clarita, CA complain that it's to much like stock. Go figure.
try a 4puck!
The clutch disc isn't really what makes it so hard to drive, it's the pressure plate. A stock pressure plate with a 4 puck disc is just as easy to drive as a stock clutch disc.
I know a few people running 4/6 puck setups with stock pressure plates, and it's easy as hell to drive.
